Life is (Not) Full of Surprises
"Mommy?"
"Yes?"
"Daddy and I got you a birthday present at the store today."
"You did? That was nice of you."
"It's a surprise." This last part was whispered.
"Oh, a surprise? I love surprises!"
"Yes! It's a very special beach blanket and it folds up and we won't get wet when we sit on it when it's summer outside. Will it be summer outside today? Also we didn't get you a birthday card."
"Oh, that does sound like wonderful surprise. No, it won't be summer today, but the beach will be fun with that very special beach blanket."
"Yes, but Mommy? Don't tell anyone, because it's a surprise."
"Yes?"
